For such a small town we are getting quite a web presence. Maybe we don't need our own newspaper at all.

I guess that would depend on how many residents are seeing the websites...

I took a quick look at this "new" website.
Personally, I will not be using it.

It's simply snipets from other websites of what Len deems important. I find that it lacks depth and supporting information.

Nothing original and no new information.

At least the Town of Danville and Speak Out Danville websites are run by committees, not one person, like the "new" website. There are other opinions on the committee run websites, not just one person's.

And couldn't he have come up with a more original name? For someone who does not hold our school system in high regard, he certainly is quick to take what he wants from it for his own personal use.

I think that one of the great things about the Internet is that it allows people to edit and publish their own news they way they want to. There may not be a lot that is new or different about the new website but it at least a way for someone to express their opinions and to highlight what they think is important. There is nothing wrong with that and while this site is not going to meet everyone's needs it may meet some for some people.
And you know if nothing else links from there to here will make things here some up more often on search engines and that is a good thing IMHO.

I find the site very informative and I like the layout.

I did not always agree with Len and I do miss debating with him on SOD

My hats off to him, good job !

I think it is a good website and emailed Len a pat on the back!
I found some direct links that will be helpful in the future. I particularly like seeing news articles relating to Danville, USA.....no matter what state.
Where were his personal opinions?

As far as the name goes, no it's not original. However, it fits......and I don't believe there is any copyright on "Danville Delivery"

Good job Len!! I look forward to seeing MORE MENUS! :)

I took some time to follow up because I had to work through some personal issues.

Len remains a member of SOD in good standing and can post here any time he likes. His absence is his choice, no sanction or suspension was ever applied. In fact it was only last week that I realized I had not lifted his "moderator" privileges, which the SoD "sponsors" have rarely employed.

I tried very hard and invested some emotional capital to keep all of us working together, on ToD and SoD. It's just not going to happen. I think that SoD and DD together could be a nice site.

What I like about SoD is that it is about as democratic as any of these local sites can be. The Atkinson, Epping, and Plaistow sites each seem to be personal statements of one individual and a few like-minded cohorts. Len's site is similar in that it is Len's view of the world, he is spoon-feeding you what he thinks is most useful. On the other hand, he is trying to figure out what people want to read, in contrast to the other sites which are more about one individual's self-expression on a take it or leave it basis.

I did chuckle to myself when Len mentioned in an email that people did not like to wade through the "vitriol" of SoD. I was thinking, so who was the number one purveyor of that substance here.

I don't agree with Len's division of our local world into "politicians" and "the rest of us". I think few of the "politicians" possess any political skills whatsoever. He hasn't flat out said it, but I think he has put me in the "politician" camp, now being on 3 town committees and chair of 2.

Anyhow, I wish him well, and we'll see where this all goes.

Seems like a lot of real estate today dedicated to attacking Rob on kindergarten. Admittedly I took a quick glance, but I didn't see that the quoted commentary supported the headline of "Kindergarten Advocate Changes Tune".

I've found a few things on the site which were helpful.

I had menus at my office to order take out to pick up on the way home.

I found out about the new download service at the library. It just don't have the time to look at the town website enough.

I first read the article from the Nashua paper on the suspended teacher on that site, before seeing it posted on this site.

That's fine, as long as you understand that you were actually looking at the town web site when you got that information.

Rob put a lot of work into reformatting that page, and all the others, and it looks great.

I think a little competition can make us all better.

Maybe Len should just rename his little website "I hate Rob Collins". Talk about sour grapes!! Should we all feel sorry for him because he was scared away for slandering people in Danville??

Rob just needs to cultivate some alias'es like Len did. :D

Remember when Len was accussed of being posters like Resident, dmh, formerlurker and others. IF Rob had a few other like minded posters then it would not look like everyone is picking on Rob.

Different

Oh I think Len's slanderous comments a few months ago are just a little more aggregious than a couple of people hinting he might be others on SOD but by all means keep defending him. Even vindictive people like him need allies!

You missed the point.

Len did cherry pick comments for his site about the no tax impact threads which seem to be the most active right now on this board. Unfortunately for Rob, he seems to be the only one posting who believes there will be no tax impact. My bank account hopes he is correct.

If the site had more posters who believed no tax impact and were posting perhaps Len would have more comments to pick from. I've been trying to find some people, but most of the people I know remember the PAC.
